"Number 7"

In 2011 we had the most rain and snowfall in 100 years. In May the massive snowpack was melting and the waterfalls were flowing at record levels. I became obsessed with capturing this shot. Six times I made the 2 hour drive from my house up to Lake Tahoe and each time the light was flat. I had zero keepers. Then on the seventh trip the sky exploded with amazing color that reflected down on the lake and turned virtually every wet surface pink! Finally I could rest with "Number 7"
